Day of Meditation in Nature
at
Spirit Rock Meditation Center (please note: this has been changed from May 9)
|
Come join us as we spend a day in the beautiful rolling hills and serene woodlands of Spirit Rock in San Geronimo Valley. In the old sacred Buddhist tradition of going to the forest to meditate we will spend the day in a quiet contemplative spirit, doing various kinds of sitting and walking meditations that help deepen our connection to ourselves, the natural world and the web of life in which we all belong.
This is an excellent day for those new to meditation, or new to meditating in nature or who want to bring the depth of your meditation practice into the supportive arena of nature. Mark will be giving plenty of guidance via talks, guided meditations and time for questions about how to practice outdoors.
To get to our meditation site, requires a gentle 10 minute walk uphill.

New Years Tropical Wilderness
Meditation & Yoga Retreat
In Costa RIca
w Mark Coleman &
Janice Gates (Yoga teacher)
|
The Retreat
This is an opportunity to integrate an inner journey through the practices of yoga and meditation with an outer journey to the magical Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. We will spend each day surrounded by the power and beauty of nature as we explore our own inner nature. There will be two yoga sessions daily, several periods of guided meditation, as well as time for discussion and talks on the themes of meditation, yoga and nature. Each activity is approached as an opportunity to deepen awareness and the majority of the retreat will be held in silence. There will be plenty of free time to explore the pristine beaches, drink in the sunrise and sunset ~ or simply do nothing.
Guaria de Osa
Is nestled in a Nature Sanctuary rooted by marine and rainforest ecosystems with plenty of trail hikes, Guaria de Osa is an exquisite, road-less, rainforest, ocean, wilderness discovery centre, powered by the sun. It is off the beaten track with a mile and a quarter-abandoned beach and unspoilt ocean to explore and enjoy. Embedded in the Little Amazon by the Ocean of the Osa Peninsula, where towering stands of primary Rainforest kiss the sparkling Pacific Ocean, endorsed by National Geographic as the most biological intense place on Earth. We believe this is an ideal location to deepen our connection to the power and beauty of the natural world
